How to determine your velocity of reading?
Take any small paragraph and count the number of words in it. Then clock your watch when you start reading and stop it when you are done. Check how much time you took to completely the read the paragraph and comprehend it as well. Say for example: you took 10 seconds to read and understand a 60 word paragraph. Then, your reading speed will be: 60/10, i.e. 6 words per second or 6*60, i.e. 360 words per minute.
You repeat this for several different paragraphs and make a n
ote of it in the chart and then take out the average of it. You will get your average reading speed. You may then repeat these steps for several few days and note down the readings in the improvement chart report and can study it later and determine how well your reading speed improved.

Many brands also claim that they can improve your reading rate to about two to three times of your original rate. These claims are grounded on a bigger claim- you will not lose your ability of comprehension skill. However, all these companies come to a consensus when it comes to sub-vocalizing. They have different methods of applications. Some claim that sub-vocalization is the main obstacle to gaining speed in reading. Others claim that sub-vocalization comprises of two levels. Sub-vocalization, applied to the key words help in learning faster and speeding up reading.
There is the second component that is an obstacle to speed-reading. Some courses pay more heed to comprehension above reading and claim that fast comprehension improves reading speed. Other courses suggest that once you start reading fast, comprehending
