One has to follow several guidelines while going for a speed reading course. They are as follows:

• Choose a room inside your house that is well lit and silent (so that you are not been disturbed).
• Take a book, magazine or a newspaper and mark a portion to read. Remember the thing which you are going to read must be in a language which is well known to you.
• Calculate a particular time limit within which you are going to read. You should take a timer along with you.
• Start reading! Read and try to retain what you have read. This is very essential. It will not only improve your reading ability but will also enhance your knowledge and brain power.
• It’s always suggested that you group words in blocks inside your mind or try to read a sentence and not the individual words. That will increase your pace.
• If you have low visions try to relax your eyes after reading for a while with a uniform pace. Do no go for continuous reading when you have exceeded the time limit.
• The most important is that you should react according to the words written in the news paper or in the book. This will not only help you to understand but will also help the listener to get to know what you are reading about.

It will be a bit difficult at first but slowly and steadily you will succeed. All you have to do is to concentrate. Remember that nothing is impossible in this world!
